Sipisopiso Waterfall

Located at the northern end of Lake Toba, around an hour's drive from Berastagi and very close to Tongging, where the its waters flow into the lake, Sipisopiso is a gorgeous and often overlooked place to visit. The 110m waterfall gushes seemingly from a hole in the face of a cliff (it is in fact a narrow gap at the top) and cascades into the valley below before completing its journey to Lake Toba.

There are a few food stalls at the parking area near the top and a lovely little area where you can sit and take in the spectacular view. From here you can see the northern end of Lake Toba as well as the waterfall and it makes for a nice break on your way to or from Berastagi.

If you’re feeling energetic and aren’t content with just looking at Sipisopiso waterfall then you can hike down the winding track to the bottom and drech yourself in the cacophonous spray before making your way back to the top.
